Hi, My husband is 25. As a child he was diagnosed as being bicuspid with mild aortic stenosis then lost to follow-up. Recently due to shortness of breath he has begun process of following up on his heart in which time I have found all his records which reported that at the young age of twelve he surprisingly already had heavy calcification. We have had two follow-up echo's, at two differnet places in the last month, both of which found him to be tricuspid, but again with calcification of his aortic valve. It will be a while before he makes it back to his cardiologist for an intrepretation but I am trying to figure out what would cause the calcification if he is tricuspid, especially as a child. He has never had radiation treatment, does not have lupus, and no rheumatic fever.
Thanks
