jgaer,

Thanks for the post.

There is nothing in your ECG that concerns me.  However, as I have written before on this site, seeing the Mona Lisa (or ECG) is very different than reading about the Mona Lisa (ECG).

Incomplete Right Bundle Branch Block is a common finding.  In a cohort of otherwise healthy, young military recruits, the finding of Complete right bundle branch block was present on the order of 1-3 per 10,000.  The prognosis was unaffected.

A diagnosis of "Possible Right Ventricle Hypertrophy" cannot be made with corroborative evidence.  Furthermore,  criteria for this diagnosis based on the ECG are available only for patients over the age of 40.

Talk to your doctor.  Ask him/her why he/she is not concerned.

Hope that helps.

Has anybody had a Reveal (heart monitor implant)?  My date for implant was just chg'd to a few days before a hospital admission for other testing and I was wonder'g if there is any reason I should postpone it until afterwards, ie soreness, adjusting to the device in my chest, or just taking care of the stitches.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

I have heard of this monitor, my ep wanted me to get but I didnt but I wish I would have. She said that its the size of cigerette lighter and you have in for a period one year.
It sure will get all the activity needed that for sure with out the stickys that after awhile start to iritate the skin. good luck and let me know how the implant goes.

Thanks Konopka,

It is an implanted loop recorder, it's leads are right in the device itself.  I talked to a girl in the cardio's office (I don't know if she is a PA or what), I told her my concerns and she told me to go ahead as scheduled, I hope she is knows what she is talking about.

I am going in for a VEEG, they are trying to find out if I actually have epilepsy (for which I was diag 2 yrs ago) along with the NCS and IST, or if I have another arrhythmia that is causing me to have mini blackouts and what appears to be simple and complex partial seizures. Sounds exciting, huh?  Since the drs. are divided as to whether it is cardiac, or cardiac and epilepsy I need the Reveal to settle it.

The epileptologist I saw said he met a woman who was treated for epilepsy for 42 yrs then it was found that her heart was stopping for 12 seconds and this was the cause for her events.

Thanks again for your post. :o)

Thank you, wmac.

It was mentioned 2 yrs. ago by an EP that if I wasn't diag with E I would get the Reveal.  After the diag of epilepsy and 2 yrs. later I am still getting neuros who think some or all of the events are cardiogenic.  It's time to settle it once and for all!

I just had to lol when I read your last post!  This is my 2nd VEEG, this time for 4-5 nights.  I know just how you must've felt!  I was spared the good looking medical students the 1st time, we will see the 2nd.  They do make you feel awful with sleep deprivation, don't they.  Plus, I think the laying around doesn't help much and the boredom.

Did anything at all show up on your VEEG?  The reason I got the diagnosis of E is due to some sharps, a few spikes, and slowing in the area.  This epi said some normal folk can have some epileptiform, so...  I won't be surprised if I keep the diag. of E, but we need to find out about all the different events.

I'm so glad they found out yours weren't seizures! Hugs And that is was so easily taken care of! Somebody recommended I go to the salon and let them deal with the glue.  I am having my hair hilighted the day b4 the VEEG and I can't use conditioner the day I go in hosp.  I can't wait to see what a challenge it is to comb out my hair w/o conditioner.

I am on a beta blocker for NCS and IST, and calcium channel blocker for IST.  I hope it's not from the beta blocker, because it has really improved my quality of life.

Thanks for posting again and for the laugh. :o)

Konopka,

You have given me a glimmer of hope.  My husband is telling me not to go and get too worked up about it, because if I do have E I am going to end up going thru the horrible blow again.  OMG I think it's too late, I am hopeful!  IF they did this Reveal in the beginning of all this, this wouldn't be happening, but at least we're going to get to the bottom of this now.

You have an ICD, too, so was it just your beta blocker or something more?  The last neuro who suggested it was my heart said I may need a pacemaker or ICD, but that is really getting ahead of the game!  Maybe it will be something as simple as chg'g meds. I could live with that! :oD

I am on atenolol, too.  I can only take 1/2 of a tab (12.5mg), if I take more I get side effects, that is why I have to take the verapamil for the tachy, too.

What are "johnnies"?  LOL  I have a couple of cute pj's and a nice pair, now I am going out for another nice pair. :oP  You better pray those students don't come by my bed, I am much too old for that!  *Be still my heart*<~~~~figuratively only.  rotf

My VEEG is the end of this month into May, unfortunately I won't followup with the epi. until June!  Waiting is terrible, esp. for something like this!  That will mean all those weeks still on a seiz. med. that knocks me out (we will switch it if I do need AED's still).

I am so glad you posted to me.  Thank you so much!

More hugs to ya. :o)

Konopka,

I love your sense of humor!

I am so sorry to hear of your heart troubles. :o(  Mom had a mitral valve replacement while she was in chf.  She was so bad that they brought in a team of drs. to discuss options and after a week they decided she was a poor candidate for meds and a poor one for surgery.  They went ahead with the surg and we had 10 more years with Mom and she got to see 2 more grandkids!  I remember another time when her EF was 20 and they told us this was it, it wasn't.  :o)  With your spirit you will come thru just fine!

Congratulations on your daughter's graduation.  I know you are very proud and rightfully so.

I have been in the hospital a few times, the longest were the 3 day cardiac stays and talk about boring!  You're right in that I won't be able to do anything, but stay in bed or next to it in the chair provided for the VEEG.  I have a list of things to take.  They said I could bring a laptop, but they don't know if I will have internet access.  Sure would pass the time a lot faster!  I will weigh my suitcase down with videos. :oP

OH, so they are johnnies.  LOL  I remember those dreadful things!  I remember one time the sink was outside the bathroom and I was trying to wash my hands and keep my "naked" butt covered, because the roommates hubby was there with her. (Naked because I was having surgery. *blushing*)  Last VEEG they wrapped my head like a mummy, I hope they do at this hosp. too, one less thing to worry about. LOL

Let me know how things work out for you. ***@****

Hugs
