Echo results...second opinion???

I am 22 yrs. old and recently had my first echocardiogram.  The results were as follows:

---normal LV size and LV systolic function and estimated ejection fraction 55%
---trace mitral regurgitation
---trace tricuspid regurgitation
---trace pulmonic regurgitation
---mild pulmonary hypertension
---mildly dilated left atrium

I have already seen a cardiologist who said that these were not a big deal.  My doctor thought they were alarming for my age.  Do I need a second cardiologist's opinion???  I'd appreciate any info.  Thanks!!!

I had my first echo in April.  I guess if the results were totally normal I would not have pursued a second opinion.  The results were not normal and the second opinion did offer differ slightly than the first in a good way.  Get a second opinion!!

Dear migs,
The written report of an echocardiogram does not carry as much information as the actual pictures do.  Therefore doctors who are reading the echo must transmit the data in a manner that is understandable.  To do this doctors use "code" words to convey certain meanings.  Anything that is called 'trace' or 'mild' is in general within normal limits.  Hope this helps.
