Elevated Troponin following to cardiac stent

Elevated Troponin following to cardiac stent

If a patient was admitted and has an elevated Troponin of .89 and had a cardiac stent placed 5 days earlier (previous admission)   the attending MD says that the patient had an elevated Troponin probably due to previous cardiac stent.  I'm trying to figure out the most accurate diagnosis.  There are EKG changes from nonspecific ST and T wave abnormalities to ST elevation no present in Inferior leads and inverted T waves have replaced nonspecific T wave abnormality.   I want to ask the physician if a small acute MI (NSTEMI) occurred due to the stent (maybe from thrombosis) , but a c-worker says "The doctor says the elevated Troponin was due to the stent placement and he doesn't say there's an acute MI so don't ask"  My problem is many patient's are diagnosed with positive or elevated Troponin and when I pressure the doctor he admits many times there was a small MI.  What is your thought on post-cardiac stent elevated Troponin's.  If it's high (.89 five days later) is it proper to ask doctor if a small MI occurred? many doctors are sayi
