My 82 year old mother died 3 weeks ago after suffering agonizing pain for 3 hours as her her thoraco abdominal aneurysm ruptured. I was appalled that the ER MD despite my telling him of Momma's history ordered Toradol Injection for pain initially. Later after no relief he ordered MorphineMorphine Morphine sulfate Morphine sulfate sr 2 mg IV for two doses. While I am no physician I know more could have been done for Momma so that her last hours were not spent with such suffering. Neither my brothers nor I had any idea that deathDiscussing death with children Gangrene Liver cell death Loss of a child - resources Sudden infant death syndrome from an aneurysm would be the way it was. Each of my brothers and I will have appropriate testing for aneurysm. I am hopeful that if any one of us develops an aneurysm surgery will be much less risky by that time.
