Did your doctor not refer you to a cardiologist? From my own experience, I find heart and lung so closely related that I guess that's why they term the clinic cardio-pulmonary but you would think the two specialists know enough to recognize symptoms that cross into the other's territory.
After my botched angioplastyAngioplasty Coronary artery balloon angioplasty - series, I was given Metoprolol for my heart. I started to sound nasal and had a runny nose all the time. I also could not sleep lying down and couldn't cross the street without stopping to catch my breath. I identified the root of the problem as the Metoprolol but my cardiologist just kept upping the dosage. Now I have COPD but they want to blame it on my previous smoking.
I say that to say you should not only see a cardiologist but investigate what side effects your meds might come with.
