I have the same question. What are late beats and dropped beats.  I cannot find anything on this either.  I had 144 late beats and 4 dropped beats in 24 hours.  My pulse usually runs between 45-50 and when I sleep it goes down in the 30's.  The longest R-R interval was 2.10 seconds.  I do get pauses and they scare the hell out of me and this is why I went for a holte.  My doctor says they are nothing and cannot cause symptoms.  I read something about a sinus pause.  Is this the same thing?  I did read these, if longer than 2.5 seconds, can cause full cardiac asystole.  This concerns me.  Why would my doctor tell me they are nothing and then i see this.  Are they different things?  Please help me someone......***@****

Mommyplus,

I think the Doctor answered correctly. I had some event monitor readings that looked and were abnormal. The Doctor had to also look at the ekg strips to get a better understanding of what was really going on. You might want to think about seeing your doctor and have him go over the written report and the ekg strips with you. This should give you the answers you are looking for. If for whatever reason you don't get answers from your currant doctor, ask for a copy of the strips and take them to another Cardio. Doctor.

Hope this helps,
M

I know I wrote a book there but I wanted you to have the info, I have used xanax but have terrible med fears and I am real insomnia as well.  I am starting to think the xanax has ruined my heart.  I have had this thing from what I beleive to be sleep starts, it only happens as I am trying to sleep I will jerk awake, sometimes my heart rate will be slow and then it will beat fats and as long as I do not get upset it quicky returns.I also wanted to add that my 186 rate was during fast walking. sometimes my heart return to normal quickly and other times I get scared and nervous after excercise and thats whay I think it will stay high afterwards.I also thought I would include this info as well

Dear mommyplus6,

This sounds like essentially a normal recording. I would have to see the actual strips to give you more information.  You did have some PVCs and PACs as well as a episode of fast heart rate.  The fast heart rate could be sinus tachycardia or an SVT depending on what the strips looked like.  The other numbers are markers of heart rate variability which was normal in your case.  Your doctor should be able to give you more information.
