High BP, dilated aorta, heart attack symptoms

I am at a complete loss and hoping someone can throw some advice my way. My mom just got out the hospital after being brought in for heart attack like symptoms (severe chest pain, arm numbness). She previously was on metoprolol 100mg twice daily, hydrochlorothiazide 25mg daily, fish oil, baby aspirin and lipitor 40mg daily. The ambulance/er gave her nitro x2 doses, baby aspirin, and enalapril. She was admitted to the cardiac unit the same day. Her bp had significantly spiked, noticable up to 184/126 at one point. As a pharmacy tech, you can imagine I was paging the nurses on that one. Since it was Saturday, the cardiologist told her she needed to stay in the hospital until Monday for a nuclear stress test, echocardiogram and ekgs daily, but they ruled out a heart attack. Then then started her on lovonox 30, carvedilol and ramipril. We didn't see another doctor until Monday before her test at 8am then she returned to her room at 11:30. At 2:30/3pm we got a call from her pcp stating she needed to be taken via EMS to another hospital with a nationally ranked cardio unit for a catherization. After many bouts with a nurse giving us the wrong times and many other problems with that nurse, she was taken up yesterday at 7:30am with the procedure at 10am. There were no blockages, plaque or other problems, EXCEPT a dilated aorta due to poor regulation of her blood pressure. The surgeon said her meds would need to be corrected. That was at 11am. During recovery from the procedure I had to page the nurse because her bp then dropped to 90/34. She did another bp then disconnected her from her monitor and had her up walking around since the mid-level cardiologist would be in to see her. Finally at 3:45 an RN came in to discharge her, putting her on the same exact meds as she was on prior to going to the ER!! When I questioned this move, she spoke with the PA on the floor who said it was the best treatment option and to see her pcp and cardio at home for follow up in a week. Am I crazy or is this outrageous? Same meds she was on when her bp spiked so high with the dilated aorta that they thought she was having a heart attack! They refused to allow me to speak with a doctor, put her in a wheelchair 45 minutes later and sent us home. Her pcp said she need to come in today and she needs to see a cardio also, but to check her bp at home until she is seen. This is the same pcp that put her on the original bp meds. Please help!! I know this is wrong since the meds were not regulated her bp before but I don't know what else I can do then go to the appointments with her! I am extremely worried about my mom and that we are going to end up right back in the ER again. She is staying home for the rest of the week, no caffiene, no stress, no salt. But really, I feel like there is a ticking time bomb in her heart!!!

Sorry about all the trouble and stress you and your Mom had/have. Most important you can do is just stay calm and ask questions while you are with her at the doctor and sure you can go with her!! It is normal! She might feel better if not alone. Also she must have a family doctor she feels comfortable with , who has time to listen. Sometimes needs many adjustment on the medication, and that is the only way to get to the point when we can say : great, it is IT now, not high not low. But also please keep it in mind BP is an awful thing it goes up and down all the time it is an over sensitive thing. When we are in balance mentally, all goes better.
Also do as many readings at home you can for a while and provide it regularly at every visit  to her doctor. My doctor was encouraging that method. You should tell the doctor that if he won’t. It helps  him also to find the right amount of pills.
My Best wishes to your Mom and you!
