What kind of surgery is it?  There are different risks associated with different procedures.  Is it Angioplasty ? Or an open heart?  Also, what hospital are you going to?  Each hospital has different risk factors as well.  I'm from the Indianapolis area and have heard that of the Indianapolis Hospitals   Community Health Network  is one of the better ones you can go to!  Good luck with your search!

Have they offered, or considered a transcatheter valve replacement? I know this option is not available in all hospitals, but the procedure has been successfully used on quite a large scale across Europe and the UK. The valve is positioned and put into place firmly by expanding a balloon, much the same technique as used in placing a Stent. Recovery is much quicker and there have been far less complications. Although usually performed in patients with serious health issues, you might be considered as the procedure has already been done before and more scar tissue will be a result.
