Coming off your blood pressure medication is not advisable unless you have consent from your Doctor. With regards to beta blockers, there are 2 camps on this among cardiologists. Some like them, some don't. I was able to come off mine a few months ago, but I was only on 1.25mg. Even this low dosage took a while to wean off. The effects were quite scary with me, such as my chest felt very heavy like my lungs were made from iron. Over a period of a few weeks I finally managed to rid them. The difference without them is noticeable BUT you could experience some angina discomforts without them. They really do help to keep your heart relaxed. Again, it is very important not to stop any medication unless agreed by your Doctor.
Any therapy for occluded vessels (medication, stents, bypass) only treats symptoms and is not a cure. Almost always the only medication that can be dropped after effective treatment are nitrates for prior chest pains.
