Intermittent Heart Palpulations

I have a problem that has been going on about 5 or 6 years. There are times when I will have sharp or sometimes dull pain in my chest and sometimes I have pain that goes down my left arm. I have even felt pain go all the way down to my left leg. I also I had a bad cough attack about 4 years ago, and I was coughing really hard and I was actually walking out of the door and I blacked out for about 5 mins. My wife wanted me to go the er and I refused. It cleared up for a while and then later on I started having that pain in my chest again. Just over 3 years ago, I seen a different doctor and told him what all was going on and he referred me to a cardiologist. He ran different test on me.  He did a stress test on the tread mill and did an echogram. He said that a I have slight heart murmur and couple of slight leaky valves. He said I had a much faster heart rate than normal. My resting heart rate was between 105 and 123.. He put me on beta blocker for lowering my heart rate as well as my blood pressure. About 9 months after that I ran out of meds. Then some other things started. I had been home from work for about an hour an half and I was relaxed. I started feeling kinda funny. My heart started racing really fast and beating so hard, the t-shirt that I was wearing was actually moving. I got up and went the restroom and I felt my heart slow down just a bit, and I was walking back in the front room and I suddenly got short of breath and my whole left side went numb and started feeling tingly and a sudden bad headache came on that didn't last too long. I felt very unsteady on my feet and I was feeling confused. My wife handed me the blood pressure machine and it showed my heart rate was 178. I went to the er and they ran a bunch of test on me and they told me that I was going to be staying for about a week and said that I had paracarditist.  The doctor also gave me more refills on my meds and told me to continue taking them as normal.

You seem to be having a lot of symptoms that are causing you a lot of discomfort. Although you have had a lot of tests that have not shown anything, there are other things that can be done to help determine if you are truly having an arrhythmia. There are a number of conditions that can cause a fast heart rate (with/without symptoms) that can happen spontaneously -- supraventricular tachycardia, atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, atrial tachycardia, to name a few. Sometimes these conditions can be paroxysmal and not caught on an ECG or even a 24 hour holter. If you are fainting with these symptoms, this could represent a serious problem that should be addressed. A loop recorder or even a heart monitor (that monitors more than 24 hours) may be indicated.

About 3 months ago, my heart started racing again. I would get dizzy and so dizzy I would almost fall down. I was having chest pains, sometimes a tingly feeling in my left arm. But it does not happen all of the time, Sometimes it might be once a week, to maybe once a month. Sometimes more frequent. I have a heart monitor on and it did not pick it up because it was only 24 hours. Also I had a chemical stress test done, because I was on the beta blockers. So my heart rate never really got up very high on the stress test.  But basically what the doctors are telling me now, that it is all in my head. I don't see how it is in my head if am getting so dizzy and sudden headaches and I feel my heart racing fast and hard. But yet the quack of cardiologist said it was in my head. I was even treated for anxiety and I was still having the same problems. Does anyone have any ideas?
