Medication

I have recently been put on the drug minipress for my blood pressure.  This is in conjunction with lotensin.  Since taking the minipress, I find that I leak urine even when sitting down.  I do have a problem with incontinence, but have never had this constant leaking before.  Does minipress affect the kidneys and if so, how?  Thank you

Minipress can affect the bladder (not the kidneys though) and predipose to the sort of problem that you describe. Let your doctor know so you can be switched to another medication.

Thank you so much for your information on my question concerning minipress.  Can you possibly tell me what medication I can take that does not affect the bladder.  I have been diagnosed with esophagitis which is caused by alkaline rather that acid and had to be taken off calcium channel blockers because of reflux.  My doctor has tried beta blockers, but that caused my heart to skip beats.  I am getting to the point that I am wondering if there is anything out there to help me.  Your advise is most valued.

Other possible medications that are of a different chemical class include clonidine and diuretics (water pills) such as hydrochlorothiazide. Potentially the dose of Lotensin could be raised.
