Pac and Pvc.

bob
Hello.  I have had PAC and PVC for about 5 or 6 years ( I'm 31 now).  I used panic because of them, but I'm much better now.  I've learned to deal with them.  I have three quick questions though.  First  Do I need to retake any test again ( ie echo, stress ), or were the first tests enough to rule out problems for good.  Secondly is a possible cause.  I've come to learn that stomach problems can affect your heart rythym, is this true.  I do have some stomach problems.  Third is about high blood pressure.  My doctor had me on Norvasc and recently I went off it to see how I do.  If it turns out I need high blood pressure medicine I won't go back to Norvasc because it bothers my stomach too much.  Could you please tell me one to ask about that might also help my Pac and Pvc's.  Thank you for your time and information in advance.

Dear Jaden,

Take comfort in the fact that you are not alone in your feeling. Many others who post here have gone through similar situations and are now doing much better.  I would suggest taking measures to reduce stress in your life as a first step.  Follow your doctor's advice and maintain regular follow-up.  If nothing is found then work on dealing with the anxiety that accompanies these palpitations.  Good luck.

Dear Doctor,
I posted a question yesterday but I don't see it on here..hmm..well I just have couple of questions for you.  I have had ekgs (about 2) to see why I was having Palpitatons.  They started in April but I do get them SOMETIMES when I work out.  I only get them when I notice they happen when I am stressed or really excited.  My Doctor recently prescribed Zoloft to me, she thinks this will help.  I get the Palpitations I would say at the most one every couple of months.  Yesterday I got one right in the middle of rush hour and I started to cry because I just came from the Doctors and was quite worked up.  A few weeks ago under I was really stressed and my hair began falling out but it has stopped. Also, I was experiencing muscle twitches like crazy, my doctor suggested more calcium and stress reduction and thinks I'll be ok.  I was also on Ativan to control anxiety and didn't experience palpitations that often.  My doctor did blood work in April and it all came back ok, she did it again yesterday but I think it will be ok.  My question to you is, what next.  I am obsessed with these palpitations and always worry about when the next one will come.  I want her to perform ALL the test she can to make sure I am ok.  I also check my pulse all the time (usually between 60-75) and work out 4 times a week.  Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Jaden Pace

You probably don't need to retake any of the tests again unless you are having new or worsening symptoms.  Stomach problems may influence heart rhythms and antiacids usually are effectsive in relieving this.  You could ask your doctor about a beta-blocker.  This would help your blood pressure and reduce the PVCs and PACs.
