Thank you very much. I will certainly take your advice on all three points.
I've got an appointment with a Consultant on the 7th of January. I will post the outcome of that meeting and let you know how things are going with my Afib.
Thanks once again.
Hi there,
I had very successful Cardiac Ablation that treated my Afib and SVT attacks. I had an extra AV node ablated. A pacemaker is very invasive and other lifelong risks associated with it and if possible, avoid it.
Anticoagulants and Asprin will lower your risk for strokes.
If you do however decided to try Cardiac Ablation, please go through a Electro physiologist as they are specialized in the Electrical pathways of the heart and will give you the best outcome.
All the best and let us know how you are doing.
Thank you so much, Dr Anitha. Your information has helped me to better understand my situation.
Hi, a pacemaker is usually advised if the rate and rhythm of AF cannot be controlled with medications. For implanting a pacemaker, you may need ablation of the AV node. And you have added problems of coronary artery blockages. If the blood thinning is not adequate with aspirin and plavix, you will need warfarin to prevent complications like stroke. Its best to try conservative methods first. Regards.
