atenolol heart rate dropping after 8 months of being on the drug

all-
I have been on atenolol 2x per day for about 8 months.  My hr has been around 65 bpm for the first 7 months, but for the past two weeks, it has been in the middle fifties.  I do not know if this is common, but it is wierd that my hr would go down even further after 8 months of being on the drug.  I do not think that I have heart block, because I have been to my cardio plenty of times, and I'd like to think that he would have seen it on an ekg by now, and seen my pcp who has listened and also seen my ekg's and said nothing about it.
Let me also say that I have AVR with an eccentric jet (moderate) and dont know if that could be a factor, but I do not believe so. any help is appreciated.

Do you feel differently when your heart rate (HR) drops into the 50's or not?  If not, as mentioned above, it is common for your HR to drop on this medication.  Are you taking anything else new or a different generic medication since you noticed your HR in the 50's, or doing anything else new or taking any new supplements?

If you are symptomatic (feeling different when it is in the 50's) and/or concerned, call your doctor to discuss this.  He/she may want to have you make an appt. or put a Holter monitor on you (like a portable EKG you wear for 24 hours to record your heart rate, rhythm, etc.), or other tests.  Let us know how you do.

I've had some variances over time myself.  I'm on 25mg/X1 day and at first my heart rate dropped to 60.  It swung back up over time, then after a time slowed back down again.  Right now it's going between 60 and 70bpm.  I've been on atenolol at this dosage since 2009.  I do not know if it's normal, per se, but I have experienced this, as well.
