atrial flutter

hi
i have pacs and pvcs and have done since november 2005
in may 05 and june 05 i had 2 very short episodes of atrial flutter - both under 10 seconds long
the doctors tested my blood and found i was having too much thyroxine medication and said this was the reason for the atrial flutter
i have not had it again since the thyroxine was reduced - just the pacs and pvcs
am i likely to get atrial flutter again - as i have had it before?
or unlikely to get it again as it seemed to be due to the thyroxine?
or is it the case that there is a pathway in my heart now which can break through anytime?
last time i felt the fluttering in my chest and my pulse was erratic at the wrist luckily i was hooked up to a heart monitor in hospital when it happened so they diagnosed it - i sometimes get a vibrating feeling in my chest but if i feel my pulse it is normal - could this be atrial flutter or would it always feel out of rhythmn at the wrist ?
thanks for your time

manyana,

Thanks for the post.

Its hard to predict the future. Its nice that they did find a reversible cause in you. A lot of folks get fibrillation and flutter, and never quite know the reason.  Certainly you will want to keep your thyroid in check to try to reduce the chance of recurrence.

The only way to really tell what your rhythm is with palpitations would be with an event or holter monitor.

good luck
