breathing troubles 9 months after heart surgery

My mother had a valve replace nine months ago.  Her shortness of breath has all but stopped.  She has been exercising on a regular basis.  3 weeks ago she had a Colonoscopy.  Ever since then she has been experiencing shortness of breath just like it was before her surgery.  Every time she does any physical exercise she experiences it, today when she was wiping off a table she found it difficult to catch her breath.  Is this normal after having a Colonoscopy?

I am wondering if something is going on with that valve or another valve.  Shortness of breath is usually caused by valves.  She should have the pressure checked in her heart valves and pulmonary pressure.  Is her blood pressure high?
