chest pressure during exercise on beta blocker

Hi, recently I have been diagnosed with svt, and high blood pressure, altho I only have high blood pressure while im at the docs office. Now when I exercise I have a fair amount of pressure in my chest and head, it feels like my heart needs to beat faster, my blood pressure reacts normally to the exercise and it generally very good, Has anyone had these symptoms or can tell me if they think the symptoms are being caused by the beta blocker, i have had two ekgs and 1 echo. My cardiologist said im fine to do whatever I feel comfortable with, and I have never had these problems before I got the svts, which was also before I started taking the toprol

I'd guess yes, Toprol is the cause of your symptoms.  Beta Blockers act like governors when you exercise, and can be quite disconcerning when working out until you get used to them.  An example of how well they control adrenlin from raising heart rate/blood pressure is that they are a banned substance from Olympic events such as marksmanship, where adrenlin spikes definitely aren't a help.  
Often times we all think that our blood pressure is only high in the doctor's office.  Keep in mind that can be a stressful setting, but how often do you have other stressful situations in your life, and no one is measuring your blood pressure?  
I didn't like the feeling of Beta Blockers when I first was prescribed to take them, so quit, but I paid a price with lots of subsequent heart trouble.  There are other Beta Blockers, you might explore which one works best for you.
