does verapamil cause hair loss

I was on Sular for years with no hair loss, 2 months ago I was switched to Verapamil. Yesterday my hairdresser (for the past 22 years) informed me when he washed my hair it was falling out, he gave me a ball of hair to show my doctor, is this a common side effect? Will the hair loss stop if I stop the verapamil immediately?
