Dear marshalam,
Procainamide is an antiarrhythmic drug that is used for heart rhythm disturbances.  It is usually used for ventricular tachycardia or atrial fibrillation.  It may be used in persons with PACs or PVCs who have failed to respond to other therapy. Potential side-effects include GI upset, blood disorders and a Lupus like syndrome.

Unless you have a good reason to be taking procainamide it is probably a good idea to stop for awhile and see what happens.  This drug can be toxic and if there is no clear reason to take it the risks outweigh the benefits.  Ask you doctor if he thinks you should stop this medication.

If you go to rxlist.com, you can type in the name of your drug and look it up.  It shows warnings, side effects, dosages, etc.  (And Procainimide is listed there.)
