He needs to get out more lol. I've met patients who had their bypasses fail within 2 weeks up to a year. You only have to go to any cardiac hospital ward and ask what the patients are in for :) Perhaps he's too busy.
Thanks for your reply. Food for thought. Cardiologist told me that it was very rare and he hadnt come across it before. duh. Feel like a mushroom kept in the dark and fed on s**t. ah well I am still here and that is something to be grateful for.
From what I've read, about 10% of bypass surgeries are unsuccessful the first year, and 10% more fail the second year. Mine failed the second year, some veins just simply can't handle the job of pretending they are arteries. That said, in my case efforts are being made to open my native arteries using newer techniques by the staff of a teaching hospital. Just never give up.
It's not as rare as you may think. My bypass failed after 3 months. If you are lucky, they may be able to stent the lima. If not, they may consider a re-do bypass.
