pil stuck aryhthmia

K52
In April  2008 I had 2 nighttime scares in which I felt shortness of breath and very little pulse.  They left my arms weak. One lasted 6 hours.  I wore a monitor that caught a daytime runaway of 200 beats that lasted about 3 minutes. I have had that kind once a year or so for 30 years.  I am very active and teach children.
After the 200 episode I was given150mg 2xd propafenone which seemed to bring on the worst feeling I had ever had heartwise.  I also had a mild chest ache and a feeling of a pill stuck in my throat down to my stomach and back up.
I was told to have a catheter ablation after a stress test and  I was given a sample nebivolol at a low dose instead of the other med, but it lowers my already normal 110/70 blood pressure  to 88/61, and that bothered me.  I felt dizzy and still had odd heart moments. Finally I tapered it down to nothing by June 15.  I went in for the electrophysiology that lead to possible ablation on July 16, but the doctor say that I had several unsustainable trigger point in upper chambers but he couldn't ablate.  He put me on atenolol at a low dose.  At a friend's advice I am trying an acid blocker to see if that is the pill feeling because I have given doctors 3 months to come to no conclusion.  My heart still seems to leap around uncomfortably but never runs away..
Has anyone else experience any of this?

It sounds like you have an atrial arrhythmia.  Based on your physicians med choices it could be atrial fibrillaiton or atrial tachycardia, but it could also be other arrhythmias.  The only way to know (if your doctors aren't sure what it is or where it's coming from) would be to do a EP study.  We do these routinely here at the cleveland clinic.  Some of these arrhythmias are easily ablatable.  Other, may take a few tries.  You should consider a second opinion.

I wondered how hard it is to get off Atenolol to see how I feel, as I need energy to teach active nine year olds soon.  Could it cause the pill stuck sensation?
