Hi, I just had my baby in may and also have SVT. To make a long story short. I was hospitalized numerous times blacking out over a dozen times a day.they put me on toporol xl and it helped tremendously and I had absolutely no problems during delivery. My baby was a healthy 7.9 2 weeks early:)

Pushing during labor (or bearing down like when having a bowel movement) may increase vagal tone which can sometimes slow down the heart. In fact, this is often one often the first-line treatment strategy in those who have SVT in order to assist in slowing down the heart. However, it would be unlikely that this would cause your heart to stop completely.  If you are having serious concerns regarding your pregnancy, you should speak to your OB/GYN as well as your cardiologist (if you have one) as there are a number of metabolic changes that occur during pregnancy that can alter your other medical conditions.
