40 heart rate, low blood pressure but then time to time very high heart rate (260)

it started 18 month ago by nearly crashing my car agaisnt a tree when I had my first "syncope"!!!
Doc realized I had an ectopic heart beat and started the test: MRI, 24h and 1 week on home ECG, etc..
Then it gone worst when I ended unable to stand up... And in hospital!
I have now been implanted a Reveal devise which finally recorded my "episodes".
I can pass from a pulse of 40 (my average) to 260 and back to 60 all within 20 seconds!!!
Just stayed in hospital cardiology emergency for a bit they sent me home with 2.5Beta Blockers but they want to increase it to 5mg... Also they are talking of ablation op! Pacemaker etc... I am 40, got 3 children, 3 jobs and up to few months ago, very active... Seeing cardiologist on 28th nov and need advise on what to go for and what questions I should ask him ;-)
Thank you

Clearly the question you need to ask are how to best stabilize your heart rate, and what specifically is causing it.  Ablation and a pacemaker sounds like an agressive fix, but from what I've read that approach can be effective.  You may want o ask if there are any other medications, than you are already taking, that could help you.
