Hi thanks for the info, yup when my last meeting with the cardiologist he just performed a standing bp,i was ask to stand for 5 mins theb they took my bp which was 120/84 compared 15 mins ago while i was sitting it was 117/75 so he said its nothing significant even i just felt a bit dizzy.i hope the tilt test came okay
Head up tilt tests are used to find out if your blood pressure drops when standing up. If it does, it's usually not caused by heart disease (and you've ruled this out since you had no arrhytmia during your lightheadedness, this must be a great relief).
When you're standing up, approx. 500 ml of blood drops down in your stomach and legs (due to gravity) and your body need to compensate by increasing heart rate, blood pressure, compressing blood vessels, etc. In some people, this process is a bit slow due to a minor nerve system dysfunction, and you get dizzy.
When you're driving a car, and you speed up too slow (by pushing the gas too late), you can't say it's an engine malfunction. It's the engine controller, you, that react a bit late. I hope this picture explained the situation :)
