Cardizem side effects

I was recently diagnosed with SVT and my GP put me on Metoprolol.  I was still having symptoms (i.e. chest pain, shoulder pain, and back pain).  So, they switched me to DILT-XR (generic Cardizem).  With that, I started having really bad stomach cramping and bloating.  It took me a few days to realize that it was the medicine because I'm also being checked for Gallbladder problems.

Have you ever heard of that side effect from this medicine?  I was taking 120 mg. per day of DILT-XR.

Thanks

I have not heard of or seen that as a side effect, but it does not mean that it doesn't happen.  Vomiting is listed as a potential side effect. I did not see bloating or stomach cramps.

I hope this helps.

I've had 2 days without any stomach symptoms since I stopped the Cardizem.

However, now that I'm back on the metoprolol I'm still having several episodes of SVT. In fact, today I ended up with a panic attack from it.  This was the 1st time I'd had one.  Luckily I had some Xanax that the ER had given me awhile back.  It brought me out of it.

Question:  When should I take the Xanax for SVT episodes?
