Heart Palpitations & numbesss after root canal

A couple months ago I had a root canal.  Since that day I have been  experiencing full body numbness
espically in my face and scalp/head. Everything seems vague (brain fog) and numb throughout my being.
I also have been experiencing Heart Palpitations since this procedure was done.
Wish this procedure was never done. Can anyone advise what I should do ? Who I should see ?
Will I ever feel normal again ?

Thank you michellepetkus and jpek. I do have a consult scheduled with neurologist.  The palpitations are less frequent but the numbness and visual vagueness are constant and there is also a constant ringing in my ears. Your input is greatly appreciated.

I agree with michellepetkus.  Sound like nerve involvement.  Google the vagas nerve.  It runs from the base of the skull, across the jaw, and down the throat.  It also regulates heart rythme.
That being said, I would definitely follow up with your doctor.  Request a consult with a neurologist if you feel it is nerve related.
Good luck,
jpek

I don't think anyone can say for certain what is going on but it sounds like a nerve was hit when you had your root canal done.  From what I understand the amount of mercury in fillings is too small to be of any consequence to us.  It could also be that sitting in the chair while getting worked on you somehow pinched a nerve in your neck.  This would definitely cause numbness and tingling.  That being said, have you checked your blood pressure or pulse?   It is likely stressing about what is going on is raising your pulse and bp but it probably good to get it checked out.  I might also go back to the dentist to ask him about possible reasons for the reaction your body is having.  Best of luck, I do hope whatever is going on is only temporary which dental work complications tend to be.

Please allow me to provide a litttle more information as I am finding that mercury poisioning could possibly be the problem ???
A couple months ago a dentist removed my old  fillings (which I believe  were possibly amalgam / mercury) by grinding them away and after exposing the root the dentist  decided I needed a root canal which was performed. A few weeks later the dentist cemented on a porcelain / ceramic crown. I was mouth breathing  and inhaled the cement fumes. The room faded away and vetigo set in as I got a tremendous head rush. I left the office in a very mind fogged condition. At first I thought maybe the breathing of the cement fumes had some something to do with my current symptoms but am finding out it could and / or be a mercury issue ??? Since the day of the root canal.  I have been  experiencing ( parasthesia) full body numbness. This numbness is especially prominent in my face and head and scalp. Everything seems vague and distant (brain fog) and numb throughout my being. I feel a constant slight sense of vertigo and dizziness. I also have been experiencing occassional and sudden heart palpitations followed by a rapid pulse and a sudden rise in blood pressure.
Any feedback is appreciated...
