Hiya my name is jasmine in 27 years old. And I to have been suffering for around 10 years now with an increase in pvcs a week before my period is due. I do think its because on the hormoan changes, some women are just more sensitive to it than others. I don't get any other person affects and I've been to hospital numerous of times in the past for my pvcs. I've also recently quit all chocolate and caffine/tea out of my diet. I drink more water. Keep my electrolytes in check and take iron tablets. And it's made a bug difference. Though I still feel then near my period they have definitely reduced :). If you want to chat more my email is-***@****.
Kind regards.
Jasmine.
I'm also thinking the water bloating/breast swelling with PMS probably dosent help ether. I will look into magnesium to compliment my banana-a-day routine ( for potasium)
but one thing is, is there any bad side effects of those 2 minerals?
Yeah, what's frustrating for me, too, is that, when I go in to ER at time of crazy arrhythmia, and they draw blood, my postassium is always low. If I go in routinely, when they are not happening that day, potassium is within normal limits and they don't buy my low potassium stories because all labs came back fine. GAH. But electrolyte imbalances definitely can cause arrhythmia, too. I wonder if there is a weird connection between menstrual cycle/hormone flux and electrolyte levels...

I just wanted to stress that I've come to this magnesium theory through my own experience, therefore anecdotal.
It may help to take extra magnesium supplements at those times.
I last had a bad episode of SVT while immediately pre-menstrual and my blood test showed low magnesium even although I was taking the RDA of magnesium. I was given an infusion.
So that's what I put it down to. PMS supplements always contain magnesium because we need more of it at that time.
Magnesium level are closely associated with heart rhythm.
Oh yeah. I get really bad flutters (which I recently found out are NSVT) around ovulation time and then get a week's break until PMS time when I get PVCs. I have explained this to docs and they all dismiss it. ??? Since I had a stroke 10 years ago I'm not allowed to take any hormones/birth control pills. I'm truly convinced that my arrhythmia issues are linked or at least triggered by hormone fluxes.
My worst arrhythmia was when I was 7 weeks pregnant. I thought I was going to die, it lasted 20-30 seconds or so but felt a lot longer! I started miscarrying a few days later and can't help but think that the arrhythmia must have coincided with a sharp drop in hormones as I started to lose the baby. I've ran this by the docs, who don't seem to think much of my theories. They do admit that arrhythmias can and usually do get worse with pregnancy though...so it seems there is some relevancy to the hormone/arrhythmia link.
So, yes, I think you are right, and I also notice more anxiety around pre-menstrual time, too, which probably eggs on the PVCs...
Sorry, I dont believe there is any way around these dreadful things. If, you have them our hormones make them worse around 10 days out from our cycles. The best part for me is mine will disappear a few days before so at least I dont have those to contend with as well. Is this the only time you experience them?
I'm also on the pill and my pvc's increase about 10 days before my period. Makes no difference for me.

Hi
I have taken the pill for the last 15 years and it has made no difference to the PVC's.
I even came off the pill a couple of times to see if there was a change, but there was not. Still get PVC's I'm afraid.

I get exactly the same thing and now that I'm pregnant they're ten times worse. I can't go on the pill due to migraines (and now being pregnant obviously!) but I think it must help as it controls your hormones, or at least keeps them on an even keel. Make sure you investigate all the side effects and contraindications first.
so would it be adviseable if i go on the pill? im reluctant to as im also obese ( 5' 2 at 270lbs) and of course having cardio anxieties with my PVC's dont want blood clots. Has anyone noticed if pills help with this?
I seem to notice them more around my period, usually starting 10 days before. I guess hormonal flucutations can cause these things, I never knew this until coming to this forum. Interesting.
Hi
I too get real bad PVC's when I'm due my period.
They start during ovulation and then at least 3-4 days before my period.
I asked my Cardio Dr if this was common and he said that he sees many women with the same complaint around their period.
