How often do you get VT/NSVT?

Just wondering how often you folks with VT (sustained or nonsustained) have episodes of it.  Also, do you tend to get them in clusters, or just isolated incidents?

Thanks.

Twinbee -
how scary to go from infrequent episodes to several a day with syncope.  I'm so glad the ablation worked for you and you are okay.  It's been a year now - that's wonderful!

Like Brooke I suffered from a-fib, a-flutter and v-tach. In the beginning of being diagnoised with the v-tach it would happen 2 times a year. In 2006 everything changed. I stared passing out on a regular basis and was put on a cardio net monitor which showed my episodes of v-tach were happening several times a day along with my a-fib. In January 07 I had my ablation done and so far everything is calm and I am in NSR.

I just had what I think was NSVT - two short runs, maybe 2 minutes apart from eachother, followed by what I think was  a PVC a minute later.   My last NSVT was maybe 2 weeks ago?   So I think at this point I get NSVT twice a month, but clusters of episodes like this.   It's hard for me to tell the differnce between NSVT and PVCs though, espeically if they are a few PVCs in a row.

Brooke - I know, I have the mind to call up the U of MN folks and let them know about Mayo's findings and see if they'll look over my echo once again a bit closer to see if they see it too.  I mean, it can't not be there one week and be there the next...right?

Christine - I totally know what you are saying.  They happen once monthly but come in clusters when they do happen.  Same for me.

Frenchie.  I'm okay, I suppose.  I don't like getting these episodes now that I know what they are.  I guess I didn't like them before either, LOL.

So for most people these are pretty infrequent?  No one is getting like 100 a day or anything like that?

That particular rthym I don't get very often.  Mabye 2 or 3 times a year.  Usually it is when I lie on my back and take a deep breath.  It will happen a few times in a row.  about 5 or 8 short bursts of nsvt then normal then 5or 8 again.

How are you feeling today?

As you know, I get them once a month but a few in a row. Like five different racing episodes but all at once. 30 seconds racing, a couple minutes normal, 30 seconds racing, a couple minutes normal, etc.... So it is isolated for about two days but clusters of them come at once. Not sure if I am making sense!

Hey there! I read about your appt at the Mayo...This is why I'm a big fan of getting 2nd opinions:) Imagine if you just went with what the Dr at the Univ Of Mich had told you.
It looks as though you had a pretty thorough evaluation and there still not done investigating...I'll be thinking about you and hoping that they find the cause and have an acceptable plan of action for you!

Now to answer your question...In my case that is hard to answer...since I have other Tacharrhythmias that feel so similar (Afib&Aflutter). Mine are more sporadic, no rhyme or reason...I think this is why my Dr's look at me as an enigma.
