I need encourgement tonight

Please look under Palpitations, dated 7-27-07.  I wrote about my PVC problems the last couple evenings, starting right after or during supper time.  I just wore a King of Heart a couple months ago, PVCs were seen, but not strung together.  Normal beats in between.  I just had EKG 2 days ago at cardiologist for annual follow up.  Why, all of a sudden do I have these problems 2 nights running.  No stress (exept for this).  I've taken Klonopin (1/2 mg) mornings, which usually hold me all day, but, even taking the klonopin 1/2-3/4 mg tonight hasn't stopped them.  I guess I should take 1/2 more.  It's gotten scary when for no reason they have started.  I've been doing so well the last couple months.  I've been taking Sectral 400 Mg, & 200 Mg at night, plus 1/2 mg Klonopin each morning. Usually feel pretty good most of the time.

I'm upset & confused about these!

thanks

thank you so much.  I am on a beta blocker. (Sectral-Acebutolol)  I guess we just sometimes don't know why the PVCs get worse suddenly.  But he said what you said.  Thanks for being there.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having a heard time.  There is very seldom a good answer to the why question -- we know that some people have triggers like stress, hormonal, sleep deprivation caffeine, etc.  I think doing the full workup of EKG, echo, and holter/event monitor is very important.  99% of these cases that we see are normal heart PVCs and reassurance is the right approach.  If your cardiologist wasn't worried, I don't think you need to.

I think it is worth trying a beta blocker.  Some people feel fatigue but most will get use to it over time.  It is worth a try.

I hope you get some relief soon.  Good luck and thanks for posting.
