PALPITATIONS

PALPITATIONS

I am experiencing palpitatations although I have had an AV Node Ablation and pPacemaker fitted just over 12 months.
Does this mean that I will have to have a repeat Ablation or does this happen from time to time?

I do not have any personal experience with ablation or pacemakers, but  I have read many post of people who have had two or more ablations before getting a long-term cure to problems.  I think this is in fact a common experience for treatments that are not as intrusive as an AV Node shut-down.  Is that what you had, i.e., required the pacemaker?

Perhaps someone with a direct experience with your question will reply.

Good luck.

I have had three ablations in the past 2.5 years and had a pacemaker implanted two years ago.  I am scheduled to have a AVJ (AV node) ablation in March.  It is my understanding that this procedure will not cure the "palpitations" but you should not feel them any longer.  Your experience does not give me a good feeling as I am looking forward to the end of feeling lousy with AFib.

Have you returned to your DR?

I also have a his bundle ablation.  Although I'm not a pacemaker dependent but they put one in for security (insurance).  I got 2 ways can feel like palpitations.

1.  Actual AT / AF occurred.  Pacemaker will pace the Atrial and sense the ventricle.   Without the av node but I got a very active accessory pathway.  It passes what ever rhythm from the Atrial to the ventricle.  Dr knows when it occurred by the pacemaker telling "mode switching".

2.  When I wake up in the morning.  My chest likes an express train (vibration).  It said is "ventricular pacing".  Dr said when everyone wake up, the heart should be speed up so my pacer speed up for me.......  THINK : Don't need to be speeded like an express train!
