Hi Irene~I am doing better so far, I was really scared when I went to bed, but, I finally calmed down and they got better, so far, I have not had any this morning, but then again, I just got up.
My mother used to have A-fib and other irregular beats, they did not scare her either, she had them for a very long time, she was a very brave, upbeat lady, I sure miss her.
I think I had my first PAC or PVC when I was in my late 20's, then I did not have any for a long time, then, when mother had her heart attack in 1996, and I was under so much worry, they started again, which was around 2004, then, they left again for a short while, and now, they have been with me since a year and a half ago.
Thank you for caring and for the nice note. Hope you are having a nice day so far.
Hugs
Susie
How are you feeling today? Is your heart being good to you?
I guess you could call me a cheater because my heart has been erratic for as long as I can remember, at least the past 50 years. So to me all this hip-hop, be-bop going on in my chest is "normal." I understand for people who have had a quiet heart all their lives and then have erratic heart beats, it must be scary. But you've done well for the past 5 years and that's the good news.
Hope you're feeling better.
Thanks Zachs and ireneo~These darn things sure do have a way of scaring a person. Even though I have had all the tests, I still always think "well, maybe this is the time when it is serious, after all, those tests were a year ago."
Zach, I take the shots because the doc and I thought I would absorb it better, you see, I don't think I absorb what I take as nothing ever helps me, so, we thought the shots would be the answer. To be honest, I do not feel a bit different on them, in fact, sometimes I think worse, so, I am stopping them. I do not want to go through another day like today.
Irene, I like your attitude, I hope someday that I will stop worrying so much, you would think by now, I would be use to them, I have had them off and on since 2004, but nope. they scare me the same, maybe even more.
Thanks again for the comments, I really appreciate them.
Susie
I don't know what to say. It sounds like the run-of-the-mill ectopics and they do feel odd sometimes. They're harmless but so are hiccups. Doesn't mean we enjoy having them, that's for sure.
I average 1-5 a minute pretty much all day long, every day. I can't imagine not feeling my heart burp now and then. But I'm glad I'm not having 20,000 a day. That's how I keep my flippin' heart problems in perspective. Knowing I don't have to take 10 pills a day or see the cardio every 3 months and I don't have heart failure helps me feel thankful for the simple flippity heart I have.
There's no rhyme or reason for these things. All I can do is hope tomorrow will be better for you.
Hey there hon!
I just logged in to check the forum out and saw your post. You could be reacting to the B12 shot. Why did you decide to get a B12 shot? You can just ingest the stuff, or take supplements.
Your blips will pass sooner or later once you calm down and relax. Scaring yourself doesn't make it any better. You've read this over and over here from all of us. I'm here because I'm having a small bout of PVCs again, which I've been able to cope with without having panic for the past 8 months or so.
I quit smoking, and it has been 280 days for so, and I can say I don't get winded as easy, and my Blood Pressure stays low.. But I still have the PVCs, pausing, skipping. Sometimes big thumps, and long pauses, and sometimes a bout of NSVT before or after a PVC.. My heart just does what it wants, and there is nothing I can do to stop them. I've been told surgery could make them worse or not better at all.
I have to live with them, and I've lived with them for 15 years. If they were going to kill me, I'd be dead already.
Get some rest, and peace of mind.
bumping, sure would appreciate some responses, I am still very scared.
I forgot to add that about a year ago, I had an echo and other tests and they were all "normal" I also wore a 24 hour monitor which only showed a few PAC's. My blood pressure is on the low side and my heart rate is usually low, but now, it is in the 80's. I am 52 and also have an hiatal hernia and some digestive issues.
