Pain causing heart flutters

I've had neck and shoulder spasms on the right side  for about 3 yrs now. I've had carpal tunnel surgery, and ulnar nerve placement surgery on my right hand and elbow. I still suffer from shoulder and neck spasms. recently, the pain in my neck has changed. instead of a spasm, there's this awful pressure on the right side of my neck, going up my head. When this happens, I get some pressure in my chest and my balance is off. It feels like I'm going to fall. I was admitted to the hospital last week, wore a heart monitor for 24 hours, and had some ekg's done. one showed that the my heart rhythm was off, I think they called it "A fib" but i'm not sure. Anyway, upon being discharged, the g/p said that my pain was getting more severe, and it was causing my heart to "flutter" but they were sending me in for a "stress" test.I had it last week, and am suppose to get the results of it today.  the only thing I take for my spasms are skelaxin and ibuprofen, which i've taken long enough that i would assume the muscle spasms should have stopped. Now I have to worry about when I'm going to have the next pain spasm that puts the pressure on my neck and lower part of my head and everything getting dizzy. I'm afraid to leave the house without another driver going with me because everything shifts, tilts, like I have an inner ear infection. My regular doctor says it's just because of the pain in my neck, the different pressure making me anxious, but I just don't have a clue. this has never happened before and i'm starting to seriously freak out about it. Should i take him at his word, or find another doctor??

Neck pain or spasms can certainly cause a vertigo sensation.

The a-fib though, that needs more workup.  If it was a-fib I'm surprised they sent you home without getting you in meds or trying to stop the a-fib.
