Tachacardia from food...anyone

I have been suffering from sinus tach. for about 2 years now.  I take a beta blocker which controls it most of the time.  For the past few months, it seems that IF  I can wake up and move around the house without any tachy, it will start soon after I eat something, anything.  I take my beta blocker at noon, so It calms down after that. Has anyone else had this.
My beats are up to about 130 bpm.  My cardiologist says that this rate maybe uncomfortable, but not dangerous.  I did have an ablation 15 years ago for SVT, with no problems until the sinus tach a few years ago.  I wonder if scar tissue has any affect on my heart, and that is causing the tach.

Thanks for posting the information, especially the second part. I often get a pounding heart (not always fast, just so hard that I can feel it in my head and chest and hear  it in my right (usually plugged) ear.  I also feel like I'm having an adrenalin rush (anxious, shaky feeling) then too. Maybe that, too, could be caused by eating too many carbs. Just wondering.

It's a combination of two relatively normal reflexes.

First one: Eating will always increase the heart rate to make sure you get enough blood to the GI tract, so you can digest the food. It's normal.

Second one: After eating a lot of carbs, your blood sugar levels can drop, as your body sometimes is a bit eager to produce insuline. A drop in the blood sugar levels will increase adrenaline levels in the body, creating tachycardia. When you're anxious, the levels are already elevated, so this effect can trigger tachycardia. It's fairly normal.

I've read that swallowing can sometimes trigger a faster heart rate, something to do with the vagus nerve that runs near the esophagus. Some folks are more sensitive than others. If I eat too quickly or swallow too large a bite, I'll get a tachy burst.

Another thing is certain foods and drinks can trigger tachy. For me it's alcohol, too much sugar or chocolate and definitely high sodium affects me in many ways.
