Losing my mind!

I am a mess.  I have had palpitations all day everyday for the last
5 days.  The only time I get a break is when I relax in bed at night
The Toprol did nothing for them, I am now stopping Toprol and they feel slightly
worse today maybe just coming off Toprol.  I can't deal with these constant palps.
I have called in a bunch today with my event monitor and they say its fine.
I am seriously going to lose my mind.  Should I try another med?

Also I had my magnesuim level checked it was normal, would trying a magnesuim
supplement possibly work?

I am at the end of my patience and my dr's are just not concerned.  I even tried taking
a 25mg xanax today and no change.     I will go nuts before my Ep study 2/10

I can't advise you at all on what to take Debbier and i know how frustrating it is because you are so close but just hoooolllllldddddd oooonnnnnn..........You need to think to yourself "well one month from today i'll be...."  You aren't going to drop dead it would be a total anomoly if that happened and i'd bet my pink slip on that one....so okay instead of writing letters to the exes write one to your hubby and then burn it...it doesn't matter if its your husband, partner, sister, brother, mom or dad or kids...no one understands any of this unless you are going thru it........you have alot to deal with but you also have alot of people who obviously love you and count on you...time to girl up Debbier.....

hi debbier, im as anxious and stressed as you, i put up my own question too
i get a skipped beat every 10-20beats approx, sometimes more, but thats average
my magnesium level was fine too, so im not bothering with supplements, i dont think that will help as we arnt deficient
i have  anxiety tablets, but ive stopped that cos it dosent help [diazepam ]
im going dr today to get him to organise a 24hr holter as when i went to emergency 2 nights ago they advised me to get one done
so till my test is done i am feeling fragile, scared to get active incase i drop dead,, my husband also thinks i need to get over it and shut up, lol
im getting comfort in reading all these posts on here, guess its quite common
these skipped beats started 6 days ago!!!., almost like yours, what the hell happened in the air that night???, looks like its contagious,,,lol,,  good luck, xxxxxx

Thanks Cindy,    I feel so crazed, Xanax did not even help.

I was told by the EP to stop to Toprol since it was not helping at all and they got worse while on it.  I was not comfortable stopping cold turkey so I am taking 12.5 mg at night for a few days.  He told me to just stop.

I am trying to distract my myself I have 3 little ones but I am freaked and I am not sleeping which is adding my my anxiety.  I just called the pharmacist and they told me I could take Tylenonol PM with the Toprol so I might try 1/2 pill of that to try and get some sleep.

I am so appreciative of a supportive forum to turm too because my husband does not understand how I feel.

Thanks
Debbie

OMG Debbier relax a little you are scaring yourself to death over this.  I know the palps are scary but you are so close to having it taken care of now so don't lose it now!!!  I think the anxiety is figuring into this with you and causing alot of your problems.  Trust me when you call in in regards to what your holter/event monitor is reading they know exactly what is happening.  So are you saying that you are stopping your meds w/out talking to your heart doc?  If so that is a BIG mistake because with some meds you have to be eased out of them and i know my heart doc told me that Toporol was one of them.  You could end up with what is called re-bound where stopping the meds abruptly can cause palps X2. Debbier i don't know what to tell you execpt that you have less than a month to go and your whole life will change for the better so you have to not panic here and relax.  Your docs are concerned for sure but they have alot of patients they need to deal with and you need to think reasonably for a minute that if this has been going on for 5 days (and sometimes people go for a year with nothing bad happening) that so far so good you are still posting......personally i think you need some sort of distraction until that appt. so you don't scare yourself senseless like you are......we are here for you Debbier...try deep breathing, take a bubble bath, bake some cookies, rent a funny movie, write letters you'll never send to all of your exes telling them what you really think and then tear them up.....anything D if something were to happen i think it would have happened by now...start counting......26 days to go....you can do it Debbier!!!!
