unusual heart pounding?

Today I was simply sitting down playing my computer game. And my heart rate seemed normal and all of a sudden ( for 3-4 seconds ) it went into a insane bad rythm ! And beat very quick and made me feel preety bad and left me worried :( the bad feeling lasted for about 30seconds after I think it was mainly shock that got to me because it seemed very scary.

Iv been having palpotations for a months and chest aches iv been to the hospital and I'm waiting to see a specalist who can test me. But the last 4 days my palpotations have gotten better and my heart wasn't really beating in a weird way.

So what could this have been today? It felt horrible its happened before but probably about 7-8 months ago . . . I do not longer drink or smoke and I'm well hydrated and I eat normally I think. I don't sleep enough but I don't think the problems anywhere there iv never slept for long from a young age.

Probably a brief atrial tachycardia (a line of PACs).

I guess you have monitored your palpitations, and I wouldn't be surprised if they were premature atrial beats (PACs) and maybe a PVC here and there. We all have those, especially if we're a bit nervous. Sometimes this extra "pacemaker" decides to fire a little salvo of beats. This is normal, too.

If it's not sustained (for several minutes) and if you don't get dizzy or faint (except for the shock and anxiety) I wouldn't worry.

From what you say it doesn't sound dangerous to me, but surly something that should be checked by a specialist.  How long before you can get an appointment?  I'd not be worried about waiting a few days but a couple of months or more might justify appealing for an earlier appointment for safety sake.
