Strange Heartbeats

Hello there.  Just a quick question for you.  I do get PVC's and PAC's daily.  Not too many from what I have read from others I guess.  I average around 100 a day where I feel my heart stop or flutter or bang.  It used to worry me a lot but I have been to a cardiologist and he has cleared me of anything wrong with it.  He says he gets PVC's and PAC's as well!  My questions is what the heck is it when you are laying in bed or laying around on the couch and you feel your heart go fast for a few seconds and then do a thump and then back to normal.  I get this maybe every couple of weeks and I would really like to know what it is.  The feeling is a sort of bubbley sensation or rumbley sensation in my heart and then 5 - 10 seconds later it goes back to normal.  Do you think this sound like anything to be concerned about or does this sound normal to you?  Background - 47 year old female, no health issues, average weight.

Thank you!

It sounds like it could be SVT.  SVT is a type of fast heartbeat that starts and stops very suddenly with a thump, as you described.

It is hard to say for sure what it is without seeing it on a rhythm strip (ekg or Holter).  If you have a structurally normal heart, the odds of it being a dangerous rhythm are very low.  it is always worth mentioning to your doctor, but if they already did a full work up and thought you were ok, that is unlikely to change their opinion.
