You can control heart rhythms

by h0tsn0wman, Apr 08, 2009 03:34PM
I have learned to control my Irregular heart beats. Its very difficult at first but if you give it couple of weeks it will be something for the medical books. Ive had Irregular heart beats for awhile now and they start when Im falling asleep at night, pre dream rhythms. Im the only one in my family with these symptoms. I had the tendency to let these attacks control me when they start happening, I get scared and they start getting worse, my hands/feet become numb, and then its even worse because I start shaking. Ive figured out a way to control it, every night when you go to sleep it helps to drink 2 cold cups of water, during the day if it starts to skip a beat then let it go and think of something 'beautiful' and take your mind off your heart. I start thinking about my job (John Deere Employee) and how I could make the parts better, enter the codes right on the computer. Everybody has their way of controlling their thoughts and think of something that makes you happy. Like I stated up top, this is going to be my 9th week without these symptoms or medications. Excersize is the key for this. If you smoke mentol cigarets, or regular, quit before you can because smoking cigarets during the day will cause the symptoms to come back the next day. Stay safe and have a good day

Congratulations, I hope you have continued success.  And, if you gave up smoking in the bargain you won twice.

Thanks to both of you for the reply. I did quit smoking about 4 months ago, right now I think that was one of the factors causing these symptoms to come back. Forgot to mention when I was typing in the previous post when symptoms come back to get you during the day, anxiety kicks in and makes things even harder on you. By controlling your thoughts anxiety will back off and symptoms will stop. But thats my way of explaining it, not sure about other. Someone should give it a try and let us know if it helps.
