At the end of June of this year I went to the ER with a fast heart rate and the feeling of tunnel vision and dizziness. I was told I had atrial fibrillation. They had me on IV meds for 2 days but it did not correct the heart rhythm and scheduled me for a catheter ablation, which was done on July 2. I haven't had any symptoms after the procedure except for some mild chest discomfort that the doctor said would be normal, and has since subsided. Today I felt that pronounced beating of my heart in my chest and the sensation of skipped beats again, and when I feel my pulse I can feel the beat "stop" and then restart. This is the same feeling that had been going on for a few years before I ended up in the hospital, but it wasn't as bad as it had been immediately before I went to the ER in June. Could this indicate that the ablation was not successful?
Thank you.
