do I need to go to a specialist- ECG abnormal

I just had an ECG

results- possible left atrial abnormailty; left axis deviation
my doc said this is seen in smokers and those with chronic bronchitits
i was a smoker for 30 years but stopped two years go and do not have bronchitis
i do chew nicotine gum..
he did not seem to think much of the findings but i am concerned. do i need to see a cardiologist??

Given there are some abnormalities I think have a check-up with a cardiologist could help put your mind at ease, or find out what needs to be done.

Congratulations on stopping smoking, much of the damage is reversible, but it will take more years of no smoking.  That alone may resolve the EKG issues in your favor.

Given your doctor's advise, if it were me and I didn't have health insurance I'd most likely not go to see a cardiologist, but that's me, not necessarily the right answer/advice.
