Yeah, it's happened to me a few times. Not very often, and only once if it does (I mean it doesn't happen again when I go back to sleep). Only a few times in years and years, (I'm 66 now) but it makes you jump out of your skin and scares the hell out of me.Leaves you shaky for a while after till you get back to sleep.. Don't know why it happens, and nobody else does I bet. You're not crazy unless I am too. That's possible though .... hadn't thought about it till now. I'm a retired electrician and have had a few shocks in my time and that's just what if feels like. It's from inside - nothing to do with static build up or anything. Now relax, and go back to sleep. night night. Kev

I think I know what you're talking about.  I've had what I described as little shocks running through me even in the daytime but not often.  It's can occur when I'm not feeling very well.
Of course my son thought I was nuts when I explained to him, but at least I know it can happen.

I can say kind of like a startled feeling.  Weird.

Hello~Sometimes when our bodies are starting to relax, they will sometimes "jerk", some cases can be pretty noticeable and can wake you up, however, this usually happens while you are still a little awake. The shock could have been due to all the nerve endings responding; have you been under a lot of stress lately? Usually nerve endings are responsible for the "shock" feeling and tingling.

This is a new one for me..including not seeing it before on this posting community.

Is there any electricity in your bed, blanket, pad, ... ?

How do you compare the experience to an electric shock, have you ever had an electric shock while awake (happen to touch the 120 VAC somehow)?
