Multiple PVC's in a row

Very anxious and looking for some answers.  In the last week, I have experienced a PVC (I believe), it took my breath away and made me very nervous.  I calmed myself down and then  another one happened maybe 2 minutes later.  Then another one in 2 minutes.  It kept happening for about 45 minutes.  I was so scared.  Do I rush to the ER, do I just try and relax.  What is going on.  I have extensive workups on my heart and they say it it fine.  I had PSVT when I was 18, an ablation when I was 24 which worked perfect for 5 years and then everything came back plus these new PVC's.  I don't like to drive my kids anywhere because when they happen I get so scared.  Is this something serious?  Why does it happen multiple times in a row?  How long do I wait before I go to ER?  HELP, I would love some answers.  Thank you :)

Hi - try not to let your mind go into overdrive. No question the sensation of PVCs (if that is what they are) can be quite uncomfortable and alarming. Like many others on this site, I suffer from episodes of PVCs where they can occur every few beats for hours at a time. The key piece of information in your post is that you have had "extensive work ups on your heart, and the doctors say it is fine". How do you know you are having PVCs, not PACs? Either way, in the majority of cases these premature contractions are totally benign. My only advice would be to ensure you mention any new symptoms or differing sensations to your doctor, and determine if any additional tests are necessary. I went to the ER with a brutal episode of PVCs (trigeminy - PVC every third beat) which they recorded on the ECG. Regardless, the doctors were not at all concerned, and I was sent home a few hours later. I am confident you have nothing to worry about, and your anxiety and hyper sensitivity to the sensations are likely making them more frequent and more pronounced. I would avoid the ER, and make sure you speak with or see your doctor tomorrow to seek his/her advice. Many of us on this website suffer from PVCs, and the frequency can vary from 100's to 1000's per day. Learning to cope with them, and manage your anxiety is the key. For me, staying well hydrated, and adding a daily magnesium supplement has helped. Try and stay calm, and know that you are not alone - the problem is far more common then you may believe. Keep us posted. Best of luck.
