The cardiologist has booked me in for a Echocardiogram of my heart so that will be an interesting experiance.
The Ivabradine is haveing some side effects on me but none very bothersome so far and I've read one of the symptoms I'm having get better with time. My eyes cant handle going from light to dark and sitting in the dark with the TV or laptop on also makes my eyes get spots and lines as if I looked in to the sun. this mostly happens at night so it not making my life hard like not being able to walk was. I'm also getting bradycardia more so at night this worries me a little but I'm feeling fine even when it happens my heart rate can get as low 50 when I lay compleatly flat so as long as I sleep on slight incline I dont get that low. when I see the cardioloigst next I will talk to him about it. Other than thats I been great. I had a weeks work experiance for my cert II in commuity studies and had a lot fun and I was standing almost all day and went for walks with the kids on thier excersions. I was tired at the end of each day but no where near as bad as before. By the end of the week I was very tired but I enjoyed the work experiance and I'm going back to volenteer while I get my Cert II and then cert III in disabities. I loved working with the speical need childrens.
was having a very bad day on friday so I went to the Dr the ECG the Dr did showed an inverted T(something) but it was later dicovered the nurse put the leads on backwards, so I'm glad about that now.
On the saturday when the cardiologist came to see he was very rude to me and very the nurses ect that no one had figured out that leads were put on backwards. The horrable Dr called me overweight and lazy. He told me my problems was nothing to do with heart and I need to go watch a movie about some good concentration camps and look at what thay eat and half it. I was so upset with him I told the nurses not let him come near me again at all. I made a formal complaint about him and they arrange to have me stay in over night again and have another cardiolgist talk to me. Today the other head cargioligist said I either had POTS or inappropraite sinus tachycardia after asking me about when I get tacky she concluded it was proberly more likly the inapropraite sinus tachycardia as my heart rate go's up even when I'm sitting and doing simple tasks. the Dr put me on Coralan 5 ( Ivabradine) 5mg. I have already notice a hug difference in my heart rate. I got out of hospital and went to the shops for food for tea and I put the shopping in the car and unpacked the shopping and was still standing and feeling like I stay standing I was tired and puffed out but I dont feel exausted. my pulse got to 135 at the highest but it was when I ran the trolly to the check out for fun I felt so different it felt good. My pulse went back down prety fast as well. it barly got about 120 when in the past 1y the same activities would have got my pulse to 185 and I'd still be high right now.
I'm still seeing the cardioligist on firday next week but I'm glad to finally have something to make to feel better even if it is only 1 step to getting better it feels the a huge releif like some one has taken the cements boots off my feet. Gravity no longer feels it has a grip on me when I walk. Only time will tell how much better I will feel on this new med.
I;m hoping a tilt table test is one of the test they'll do on the 30th and a stress test maybe. I dont think POTS is recognoised in Australia yet.
I have thought about getting a wheel chair so I can still be some what active with my kids but I feel like that might be over the top but at the same time what if the sudden drops are me pushing my body further than is cope with right now. I dont want to die and dont want to worry if this is nothing to worry about. I've been trying to prove to a Dr for 1y half that some thing is not right with me and changed Dr 9mth ago and finally my new Dr was listening to me it still took till dec to get her take me serious about the walking symptoms. I just felt like I was going to pass out when I walked or stood up for too long and I'm getting worse prety quickly 9mth I could still walk around for decent time frame but now with in mins of standing I puffed out and its not my asthma. my puffer has little effect on my breathlessness. My one friend is even noticing my stuggle to stay up right and people are starting to ask me me if I'm OK and saying I suddenly look pale. My arms are alway red people think I'm sun burnt but I'm not I'm rarly in the sun and the worse I feel the reder I get and I'm hot my family say there frezzing and ask to turn the air con off but I'm so hot but I dont have temp.
My BP is normal when I'm sitting and resting most of the time.
My Dr is confused.
I'm seeing a cardyolist on the 30th
Definintely find a doctor who deals with Autonomic Dysfunction (Dysautonomia) have you had a tilt table test?
Try the ANS forum here under related commmunites or DINET [dot] org there's some great info and NDRF [dot] org
This can be caused by several things - and I really think you should discuss this with a doctor and preferrably a cardiologist.
First question: What is your normal blood pressure? If this is OK, your symptoms may be caused by an autonomic nerve disorder, or a vagal reaction.
It seems your blood pressure is low during these events regardless of your heart rate. Though, an irregular heart rate of 43 with BP 72/41 while walking is worrying and should be properly handled by a MD. BP 79/51 with heart rate 159 is very uncommon.
If your blood pressure is usually normal, this can (as mentioned) be caused by an autonomic nerve disorder. If your heart rate is irregular, is atrial fibrillation events considered by your doctor? This condition can cause high/low irregular heart rate, and low BP.
Anyway, your symptoms should be evaluated and treated properly by your doctor. This is just thoughts from me, and they are probably not very valuable.
