The only thing that i would want to add to the mix is that i hope that the doc that is determining what is going on w. you is a heart doc and not your family doc. But yep sress and anxiety could definately cause your heart rate to increase but like Jerry says at that rate its way too high for you and needs to be under control. It could be something simple like the beta blocker that you are on has finally gone its distance with you and the doc may need to change it out if you have built up a tolerance to it.....oopppss i read again that this was your heart doc who is doing this treatment plan for you...i would just call the office and tell them that the bb doesn't seem to be working for you any longer and could they change it out or like Jerry says possibly increase the dosage....but def. call the doc
It appears to me that it is important to get your resting (assumed) HR below 100. That said, if the 157 was at physical rest, but at an emotional high/low/? then that could be the reason. I assume Nadalol is a beta blocker. I'd look for an increase in the BB prescription if you can stand the side effects. I have taken a BB for years to keep my AFib driven HR under control, and it works well for me. I use a generic called Metoprolol. I'm now on 50mg SR, but have taken as much as 200 mg.
