I also had hemorrhoids while pregnant.  Several times they thrombosed and I had them lanced.  Ask your doctor if you should take a stool softener or increase your fiber.  You may want to soak in a plastic sitz bath in warm water several times a day.  The sitz bath fits over toilet stool.  I have also found an ointment called Calmoseptine to be very, very helpful.  I have never had surgery and continue to use Calmoseptine and get plenty of fiber.  Another idea that helps me....eating a handful of unsalted almonds daily.  My best to you.

Hi thea! Is it really safe to use calmoseptine ointment while pregnant? I am worried coz i had used it once and i have read that calmoseptine ointment may be harmful to the unborn baby. I used it when i developed anal irritation. And the ointment also spread on my vaginal area. I'm so worried that it might have a direct contact with my baby. I really hope it's safe.
