Catching hep A

If you have come in to contact with someone who has hepatitus A, what are the chances you could catch it? You see, i went out to a nightclub and had a draw of a cigarette from a guy i barely knew. I know it sounds pathetic but my father caught Hepatitus A from a similar way years ago and now im a little worried. I mean, i dont even know if the guy was sick or not and it was one draw. Please help.

I had Hep. A when I was a kid . Had several brothers and sisters and non of them got it. Or course I was deathly ill and in the hospital under quarntine for about a month. Now I am ammune to it so no one can get it. But I have an unknown liver disease. I think it may be related to hep A. Even though the Dr.s say no. I do not drink smoke or do any king of drugs . Except prescriptions. Now I am not even allowed to take an ibuprofen or tylenol or any other OTCs even for a headache.

I remembered them asking if I had shared an apple or something with another child. Or put my mouth on the water fountain. So yes it can be passed on . But I don't believe you have it unless you are jaundiced, vomiting, not eating, and quite ill. I understand that it isn/t as bad in adults as it is in children. It can be just like a severe flu. Chances are you had the vaccine in school. They didn' t have a vaccine when I was that age.
Don't worry you'll be fine.
