High AST ALT

To; Thomas D Schiano MD,

I took my yearly blood test everything came good but the; GOT (AST) 48 and GPT (ALT) 56
The last year I start taking simvacor to reduce my cholesterol and vitamin before that my AST ALT was fine
what do you think I should do, my dr. send me for additional blood test, do you think it
could be because the simvacor, should I be worried? and what should I do now to help
the AST ALT to be down,

I am 43 yrs, male, weight is 70kg/ 160cm. Stop alcohol since 21. But i have gastric reflux. Recently i took my blood test , the result shown GGT 301 IU/L , AST 65IU/l, ALT 168 IU/L. Total Cholesterol 6.2 MMOL/L, LDL 4 MMOL/L, Trilycerides 1.9 MMOL/L.
Please kindly advise me.

it can definitely be the medication but this is only a mild elevation and you should not really worry about it.  Your liver tests should be followed in a serial fashion every couple of months.
