blood test results and recovery

Hi all, I am recovering from a serious bout of Hep A and narrowly escaped a transplant. I started feeling poorly about a month after my return from a trip to Turkey and was rushed into hospital and my alt peaked at 8900 and my pro-time(clotting) peaked at 28. A month on I am still very weak but my clotting is normal and my alt is down to 390.Is this the norm? I so desperatley want to feel well again.I'm also having alot of heart palputations which my doctor doesn't seem unduly worried about. Has anyone else experienced this ?

Sorry to hear what you are going through. Your enzymes are still out of range, but they came down dramatically, so I would think that is a good sign. Big drop for sure. Your body may be trying to heal itself, but definitely stay under the guidance of your doctor.

Hep A can be bad, but some people get through it and develope an immunity.

I am one of those people. Don't even know when i had it, to tell you the truth. I was quite shocked to hear that I had it and now have immunity from getting it again.

The body fights hard to ward off these virus's, hope your body is doing that as we speak.

In my prayers.....

some good nutrition and good vitamins are in order after having hepA.   here is an excellent product that will help build back up your liver.    http://www.vitacost.com/EnzymaticTherapyEnergizingIron
my daughter used it when she recovered from mono, she also was jaundiced from the mono.
you need to eat a low fat, high protein, complex carbohydrate diet with lots of fresh veggies, fruits, etc.    you should be taking vitamin C   .    check out the web to study up on the best natural diet for recovery from hepA.     get lots of rest and work up to mild to moderate exercise as tolerated.
