Hello and hope you are doing well.
Hepatitis infection is caused by virus. Hepatitis A is transmitted by the feco oral route, means it is transmitted by contamination of food with fecal matter from the infected person. Symptoms will usually show up 2 - 6 weeks after being exposed to the hepatitis A virus. They are usually mild, but may last for up to several months. It is usually self limiting.
The diagnosis of hepatitis A infection is based on the raised levels of anti HAV of IgM type. Titres of this antibody fall to low levels within about 3 months of recovery.
Improved sanitation and Hepatitis A immunization are the most effective ways to combat the disease.
Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
