hepatitis b vaccination of newborn

Can someone tell me how soon should a new born be vaccinated for hepatitis b if her mother is hepatitis b positive? If she is vaccinated after 12 hours will the risk of its transfer to the new baby be greater? Am looking forward to quick answers, thank you.

Take my advice, do not mess around with the timings shots are given to new borns.

Let everyone know in the delivery room in advance, that you will need two shots ready for the newborn within 4 hours, at different sites on the body.

1. HBIG shot
2. HBV Vaccine

After the delivery, I believe the schedule is 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and maybe 9 months.

If you dont follow the right protocol or wait longer yes, there is a very high risk to the newborn.
